The Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Matchbox Miniature is a laser-cut wooden shadow box of the town’s Bavarian-style storefronts and a lamplit street with the Smoky Mountains glowing at dusk behind them, a fitting keepsake for anyone who’s vacationed in the Smokies. The town takes its name from an iron forge built along the Little Pigeon River in 1817, and from the passenger pigeon, a now-extinct bird that once filled the valley.
